The sesame encrusted yellowfin tuna salad was good, but it could have used a little more dressing even on the side. The ribeye was perfectly cooked and seasoned nicely. The scallops were cooked perfectly. I had an old fashioned which was ok. I switched to Captain after finally seeing my waiter again. The decor is quite interesting and entertaining. Desserts looked amazing and tasted just as amazing. Beautiful plates!

I walked in with no reservations and they were able to sit me down on a packed Saturday night in less than 20 minutes. The service I received here was amazing and my experience was wonderful. The food and drinks were great and the ambiance of the place was very antique and very homey. Overall I would come back here anytime and recommend anyone else to try this place the service and food was amazing.

It is a beautiful restaurant with amazing collection of antiques, very friendly service and great ambiance. I liked the drinks. The scallops were outstanding! However, the sauce of ravioli was too sweet for me. I really liked the ravioli itself and the veggies, but the sauce was overly sweetened and didn't go well with the turnips and raviolis. If it was served without the sauce or even just some olive oil I'll love it more.

Had such a yummy breakfast here and can't wait to go back again. I honestly think this is one of the best brunch spots, the atmosphere is so fun (lots to look at inside) and they have a little bit of everything. Almost everyone in our party got the eggs benedict (one of our favorites here) and it was truly a 10/10. I also got belgian waffles to share but we ate those so fast I couldn't even take a picture. I never really love getting iced coffees at restaurants I feel like it never tastes right but we got a huge iced caramel latte and it was amazing. It's a great spot for events (they have a private room you can book) has plenty of seating inside and also outdoor seating options.

Wow. What an amazing ambiance- loved the decor and antiques. Came here for brunch on a Sunday to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. Wait staff was very attentive . Drinks were very good. We got spiked pumpkin lattes and an expresso martini. We all enjoyed our meals very much. Had reservations at 11 and was done by noon. Only con was the one bathroom- constantly a line and a wait so that was a bit aggravating.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING! I've loved Cav for quite some time, but if I'm being honest, one of my last meals there I didn't love, and I'd let some mixed reviews steer me away for a bit. I am so glad I decided to return to an old favorite recently. I could not have been more pleased with my experience. I walked in and was greeted by the host who kindly escorted me to a table for one, up on what I'll call the platform. A perfect spot for dining and taking in the spectacular atmosphere. Cav looks like your world traveling uncles special hideaway where they happen to serve delicious food and drinks. I would usually start with the coconut shrimp, but this time the mushroom crostini caught my eye, and it did not disappoint. I ordered the serving for one, and could have easily only eaten half (had it not been so delicious). I followed that with the pappardelle and lobster with roasted fennel in an orange Pernod sauce. OMG! To die for it was. Each bite was absolutely incredible, and the little leftover I had was just as tasty the next night. To drink I had a Scotsman in Paris to start, which is a delightful martini using Hendricks gin and elderflower, and enjoyed a Chardonnay with my entree. The service, too, was wonderful this night. Kind, attentive, and quick. He always seemed to show up just as I needed him. Overall one of my more memorable dining experiences recently. I will definitely be returning more often.

Cav is one of my favorite spots for food in Providence. We go for breakfast the most because their breakfast is so delicious. They always have reservations for breakfast and it's never been overly crowded, which is a crime because it's so good. They have a great hot chocolate and their eggs and toast are unparalleled. Will come back soon because it's so good. The inside of the restaurant is also gorgeous because of all of the beautiful antiques and collectibles they have decorating it.

While we were visiting Providence, we made a later dinner reservation at CAV. The location is in a very quiet area and it sits back, nestled in a corner in between some buildings. The inside decor was very eclectic, but it all kind of comes together and was unique. Our server was great. We had lobster bisque and a Cesar salad to start. Then for our entrees my husband had the lobster pappardelle (so good) and I had the striped sea bass (pictured below) everything was cooked perfectly. The prices were reasonable as well. For dessert, the blackberry merlot sorbet had so much flavor and was delicious!!!

I'm a little discombobulated at times and made my reservation for a Sunday but I'm true Kelly fashion showed up on a Saturday. The host was very friendly, laughed at me and said it happens all the time and happily accommodated us anyway. We were quickly seated and took in our surroundings. It's a very cool place full of antiques and historical artifacts. The mohogany bar is originally from Pete's Tavern in New York dating back to the19th century. The food is amazing. We had: Brunch. Brioche french toast aka CAV- Thick slices of brioche bread served with sauteed apples, raisins, walnuts in a butterscotch maple sauce. Eggs supreme-Three fluffy scrambled eggs with shallot sauce and sun dried tomatoes. Served with grilled French bread and roasted potatoes Our server was great. He was friendly and quick to bring our food and check on us. The food was delicious. The portions are huge and prices extremely reasonable. I ate until I physically could no longer fit any food in my gluttonous belly. I typically eat half but literally could stop. It was so good. Parking is free on street but there are some nearby meters if full. Overall 10/10. I'm liking forward to returning for dinner. This place is quite the little gem. I would never had visited since it's kind of tucked away, but my coworker gave me a gift card for a graduation gift last summer and I just got around to using it. I highly recommend visiting!
